Origin

Based on publicly solicited designs and established by prefectural notice No. 166 of March 18, 1966. The hiragana とく (toku), the first two syllables of Tokushima, are designed in the form of a bird in flight, expressing the prefecture's harmony, unity, soaring ambition, and development.
