兵庫県 Hyogo

由来

波の形にデザインした「兵」の字で、南北を海に接する県の姿を象徴している。この意匠をセルリアンブルーの地に白く抜いた県旗は1964年（昭和39年）に制定された。

Origin

The kanji 兵 (hyo), the first character of Hyogo, is designed in the shape of a wave, symbolizing the prefecture's geography facing the sea on both its northern and southern coasts. The prefectural flag, which shows this device in white on a cerulean blue ground, was adopted in 1964.
