山梨県 Yamanashi

由来

県章は1966年（昭和41年）に実施された公募で採用されたデザイン案を基に、同年10月1日の県告示第219号により制定された。「人」を3つ並べて「山」を形作り、県民の和と協力を表すと共に、かつて甲斐国を治めていた武田氏の家紋（武田菱）をベースに、富士山の山頂をイメージして四隅がギザギザになった菱形で囲んでいる。

Origin

The emblem was adopted on October 1, 1966 (Prefectural Notice No. 219), based on a design selected through a public competition held that year. Three instances of the kanji 人 (hito, "person") are arranged to form the character 山 (yama, "mountain"), the first character of Yamanashi, expressing harmony and cooperation among the prefecture's residents. The figure is enclosed in a rhombus with jagged corners, based on the family crest of the Takeda clan (the Takeda rhombus), which once ruled Kai Province, and evoking the summit of Mount Fuji.
