佐賀県 Saga

由来

「力」の字を三つ放射状に配した図案。円形は協和を意味し、県民が手を取り合い、一つの力より三つの力でますます「三力（さか）える」姿と、佐賀の「さが」を表している。1936年（昭和11年）制定。

Origin

Three instances of the kanji 力 (chikara, "strength") are arranged radially. The circular form signifies harmony, and the three strengths joined together express the idea of prospering ever more — a wordplay, as "three strengths" can be read sanka or saka(eru), "to prosper", echoing the name Saga. Adopted in 1936.
