高知県 Kochi

由来

土佐の「とさ」を図案化したもので、中の白い部分は高知の「コ」を表す。縦の剣先は向上を、円は平和と協力を象徴している。1953年（昭和28年）4月15日、一般公募の作品をもとに制定された。

Origin

The hiragana とさ (Tosa, the old provincial name of the Kochi region) is stylized into the emblem, and the white area inside represents the katakana コ (ko) of Kochi. The vertical point expresses aspiration, and the circle stands for peace and cooperation. It was adopted on April 15, 1953, based on a publicly solicited design.
