石川県 Ishikawa

由来

県旗は「石川」の文字を石川県の地形の形に図案化したもので、地色の青は日本海と豊かな緑・清い水・澄んだ空気に恵まれた県土を表す。1972年（昭和47年）10月1日制定。石川県は他の都道府県と異なり県章を制定しておらず、1976年（昭和51年）制定の「石川県旗の標章使用取扱い要領」に基づき、この県旗のデザインを「県旗標章」として代用している。標章として使う場合の配色は特に定められていないが、県旗の地色と同色の青、または金色が主に用いられる。

Origin

The prefectural flag stylizes the kanji characters 石川 (Ishikawa) into the shape of the prefecture's own terrain; the blue ground represents the Sea of Japan and the prefecture's abundant green, clear water, and clean air. It was adopted on October 1, 1972. Uniquely among the prefectures, Ishikawa has never established a separate prefectural emblem; instead, under the 'Ishikawa Prefectural Flag Insignia Usage Guidelines' enacted in 1976, the flag's design is used as the 'flag insignia.' No coloring is specified for the insignia, but blue — the ground color of the flag — or gold is chiefly used.
