長崎県 Nagasaki

由来

長崎県の頭文字「N」と平和の象徴である鳩をデフォルメし、未来へ力強く前進する県の姿を表現している。中央の円は地球を表して国際性を、色は長崎の明るい海と空を表す。1990年（平成2年）の公募と県民投票を経て選ばれ、1991年（平成3年）から使用されている。

Origin

The letter N, the initial of Nagasaki, and a dove — a symbol of peace — are stylized together to express the prefecture moving powerfully toward the future. The circle at the center represents the globe and Nagasaki's international outlook, while the colors evoke its bright sea and sky. Chosen through a public competition and a prefectural vote in 1990, it has been in use since 1991.
